The short version

  • netWork is a marketplace. Posters fund an opportunity up front, Hunters do the work, and the reward is released when the Poster approves the proof or 72 hours pass without a response.
  • We are a venue. We are not a party to the work, we do not employ Hunters, and we do not guarantee any result.
  • Keep payments and messages on the platform. Off-platform deals are prohibited and are not protected.
  • You are responsible for everything your account does, including anything your AI agents do through the API.
  • Disputes with us are resolved by individual binding arbitration, not class actions or jury trials. You can opt out within 30 days.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

netWork (the “Service”) is operated by [to be completed], a [to be completed] company (“we”, “us”, “our”). The Service includes our website, mobile apps, API, webhooks, MCP server and related tools.

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding contract between you and [to be completed]. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These documents are part of these Terms and are incorporated by reference: the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines and Prohibited Opportunities, the Payments, Holds and Refunds Terms, the Hunter Agreement (if you take opportunities) and the API and AI Agent Terms (if you use the API). If a specific document conflicts with these Terms on its subject, the specific document controls on that subject, except that Section 26 (Dispute resolution) always controls.

IMPORTANT: Section 26 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class action waiver. It affects how disputes with us are resolved. Please read it.

2. Eligibility and accounts

To use the Service you must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding contract, located in the United States, and not barred from using the Service under any law or by a previous suspension from us.

You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. You may have only one personal account unless we approve otherwise.

You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us right away at [to be completed] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

If you use the Service on behalf of a business or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms, and “you” includes that organization.

We may require you to confirm your email address, add a payment method, verify your identity, or complete other checks before you can use certain features.

3. Roles

A “Poster” is a user who posts and funds an opportunity. A “Hunter” is a user who pursues or completes an opportunity. You can be both.

A “opportunity” is a request for a specific result, with a reward in US dollars and a deadline, posted on the Service.

An “agent” is any software, including AI systems, that acts on your account through the API, webhooks, MCP or any other automated means. Agents are not users. They act on behalf of the account holder.

4. How opportunities work

Posting. A Poster describes the result they want, sets a reward and a deadline, and chooses a mode. Rewards must be at least $5 and no more than $1,000. Until a Poster has had at least one opportunity completed, each opportunity is capped at $500. We may change these limits and will show current limits in the app.

Screening. Every opportunity is screened by automated policy checks, which include AI, and may be reviewed by our staff before or after it goes live. We may edit formatting, ask for changes, hold an opportunity for review, or refuse or remove any opportunity that we believe breaks our rules or creates risk.

Funding. An opportunity goes live only after the Poster pays the reward plus the service fee. The money is held on the Service until the opportunity is completed, refunded or resolved by staff, as described in the Payments, Holds and Refunds Terms.

Claim mode. The first eligible Hunter to claim the opportunity gets the exclusive right to complete it for a limited window. The Hunter must start within 30 minutes of claiming. If the Hunter does not start in time, or the exclusive window ends without a submission, the claim lapses and the opportunity may reopen.

Hunt mode. Any eligible Hunter may pursue the opportunity at the same time. The first valid completion, with proof, wins the reward. Other Hunters who pursued the opportunity are not paid. Where the app offers it, a Hunter may lock a Hunt opportunity for a limited time, as shown in the app.

No bidding. Hunters do not bid, send proposals, or bill by the hour. The reward is the price set by the Poster, plus any increases the Poster makes.

Proof. To complete an opportunity, the Hunter submits proof in the app, such as photos, files, a written result or confirmation of a handoff. Proof must be genuine and must show the result the opportunity asked for.

Approval. The Poster reviews the proof and either approves it or reports a problem. If the Poster does neither within 72 hours after submission, the submission is approved automatically and the reward is released to the Hunter.

Deadline. If an opportunity is not completed by its deadline plus a 2-hour grace period, it expires and the Poster receives a full refund of the reward and the service fee.

5. Fees

Posters pay a service fee of 10% of the reward, with a minimum of $1, at the time they fund an opportunity. If a Poster raises the reward later, the service fee is 10% of the increase.

Hunters do not pay a service fee. Hunters receive the full reward when it is released.

We will show all fees before you pay. We may change our fees with notice. Changes do not apply to opportunities that are already funded.

6. Holds, payouts, refunds and cancellation

Payments are processed by Stripe. Funds for an opportunity are held in our platform account with Stripe until they are released or refunded. [to be completed] is not a bank and does not provide licensed escrow services.

A Poster may cancel an opportunity for a full refund of the reward and the service fee before a Hunter has started work on it, as shown by the Cancel option in the app.

When a submission is approved, either by the Poster or automatically, the reward is paid out to the Hunter through Stripe Connect. Payout timing depends on Stripe.

The Payments, Holds and Refunds Terms describe these rules in full and control if there is any difference.

7. Disputes between users

If a submission doesn't match the opportunity, the Poster can tell us using “Something's wrong” in the app before the submission is approved. This keeps the reward held and pauses automatic approval.

The Hunter then has 48 hours to either submit new proof that fixes the problem, which the Poster reviews again, or refund the Poster. If the Hunter does neither within 48 hours, the Poster is refunded automatically, including the service fee.

Either side may instead ask us to decide, and a second reported problem on the same opportunity always comes to us. In those cases our staff will review the opportunity, the proof, the in-app messages and any information either side provides. We may ask either side for more information and may decide without it if it is not provided within the time we request.

Staff may decide to release the reward to the Hunter, refund the Poster, or split the funds between them. You agree that our decision on how held funds are distributed is final for purposes of the Service. Our decision does not limit any rights either of you may have against the other under law.

We are not an arbitrator of disputes between users beyond deciding what happens to funds held on the Service.

8. Chargebacks

If a Poster disputes a card charge with their bank (a chargeback) for a funded opportunity, we may freeze any payout related to that opportunity until the chargeback is resolved.

If a chargeback is decided against us after a payout, we may recover the amount from the Poster, and we may recover a payout made because of fraud or error from the Hunter, including by offsetting future payouts. Filing a chargeback in bad faith is a violation of these Terms.

9. Off-platform payments and contact

You may not pay or accept payment for an opportunity, or for work you found through the Service, outside the Service. You may not use the Service to arrange off-platform deals or to collect contact details for that purpose.

We mask phone numbers, email addresses and payment handles in messages. Trying to get around the masking is a violation of these Terms.

Off-platform payments are not protected. We cannot help recover them, and we will not handle disputes about them.

10. Rules for using the Service

You must follow the Community Guidelines and Prohibited Opportunities, which list what may not be posted or done through the Service.

You also may not:

  • break any law or help anyone else break one;
  • post false, misleading or deceptive content, or impersonate any person or organization;
  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger anyone;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, probe or test its security without our written permission, or bypass any limit or safeguard;
  • scrape, crawl or copy the Service or its data except through the API as allowed by the API and AI Agent Terms;
  • create accounts by automated means, create more than one account to evade limits or enforcement, or use another person's account;
  • manipulate ratings, reviews, rankings or opportunity outcomes, including by completing your own opportunities or colluding with another user;
  • use the Service to collect personal information about other users for any purpose other than the opportunity you are working on.

11. AI agents and the API

You may connect agents to your account through the API, webhooks or MCP, subject to the API and AI Agent Terms.

You are fully responsible for everything your agents do, as if you did it yourself. This includes opportunities they post and fund, opportunities they take, messages they send, proof they submit and any charges they make to your payment method.

Agents must follow the same rules as people. Opportunities posted through the API are labeled so other users can see they came from an agent.

12. Identity verification and background checks

We use Stripe Identity to verify identity, using a government ID and a selfie. Verification is required for in-person opportunities and for higher rewards, and we may require it at other times to reduce fraud or risk.

For some opportunities that take place inside a home, Hunters may choose or be asked to complete a background check through Checkr. Checkr provides the required disclosures and collects your authorization separately before running any check.

Verification and background checks reduce risk but do not eliminate it. We do not guarantee the identity, background or conduct of any user.

13. Your content and the license you give us

“Your content” means anything you submit to the Service, including opportunity descriptions, messages, proof, photos, files, reviews and profile information. You keep whatever rights you have in your content.

You give [to be completed] a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, copy, process, display, adapt and distribute your content as needed to operate, secure, improve and promote the Service, and to comply with law. This license continues for as long as we keep your content, and for content shown publicly (such as live opportunities and reviews), for a reasonable time after removal.

We will not use photos or files you submit as proof in our marketing without your permission.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that it does not violate anyone's rights or any law.

Work product a Hunter delivers to a Poster is handled under the Hunter Agreement. As between Posters and Hunters, rights in deliverables transfer to the Poster when the reward is released, unless the opportunity says otherwise.

We may remove or restrict any content at our discretion. We do not review all content and are not responsible for content posted by users.

14. Our platform and intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and the netWork name, belongs to [to be completed] or its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose under these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to [to be completed] or [to be completed] with the information required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We may remove content and terminate repeat infringers.

15. Reviews and ratings

After an opportunity is completed, Posters and Hunters may rate and review each other. Reviews must be honest, based on a real opportunity, and follow the Community Guidelines.

You may not offer or accept anything in exchange for a review, threaten a bad review to get something, or post a review about yourself.

We may remove reviews that break these rules but we do not otherwise edit reviews to favor anyone.

16. We are a venue, not a party to the work

netWork is a marketplace that lets Posters and Hunters find each other and handle payment. The agreement to do the work is between the Poster and the Hunter. [to be completed] is not a party to that agreement.

We do not perform, supervise, direct or control the work, and we do not employ, recommend or endorse any user. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or timing of any work, or for the truth of any opportunity, proof or profile.

17. Independent contractors

Hunters are independent contractors, not employees, agents, joint venturers or partners of [to be completed] or of any Poster. Hunters decide whether, when and how to take and complete opportunities, and are responsible for their own taxes, expenses, tools, licenses and insurance. The Hunter Agreement has the full terms.

18. No guarantee of results, and your safety

We do not guarantee that any opportunity will be claimed, completed or completed well, that any Hunter will be available, or that any reward will be earned.

You are responsible for your own decisions and safety when dealing with other users, especially for in-person opportunities. Follow the safety guidance in the Community Guidelines. In an emergency, call 911 first.

19. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Stripe for payments, identity verification and tax forms, and Checkr for background checks. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, but we choose them with care.

20. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, [to be completed] DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT AUTOMATED SCREENING WILL CATCH EVERY PROHIBITED OPPORTUNITY, OR THAT ANY USER, OPPORTUNITY, PROOF OR RESULT WILL BE ACCURATE, SAFE, LAWFUL OR SATISFACTORY.

Some states do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.

21. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, [to be completed] AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, ANY OPPORTUNITY, OR ANY INTERACTION BETWEEN USERS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE SERVICE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, AND (B) $100. THIS LIMIT DOES NOT REDUCE ANY HELD FUNDS WE OWE YOU UNDER THE PAYMENTS, HOLDS AND REFUNDS TERMS.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for our gross negligence, fraud or willful misconduct where the law does not allow it to be limited.

22. Indemnity

To the extent allowed by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless [to be completed] and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to: your use of the Service; your opportunities, work, proof or content; your agents; your violation of these Terms or any law; or your violation of anyone else's rights.

We will tell you about any claim, may choose to control the defense at our own cost, and you will not settle a claim that affects us without our written consent.

23. Release

Disputes about an opportunity are between the Poster and the Hunter. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you release [to be completed] and its officers, directors, employees and agents from claims, demands and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising out of or connected with disputes between you and other users, except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.” Residents of other states waive any similar law.

24. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time in settings. Closing your account does not cancel opportunities that are already claimed, in progress or under review. Those finish under these Terms first.

We may limit, suspend or close your account, remove content, hold or cancel opportunities, or withhold payouts tied to a suspected violation, if we reasonably believe you broke these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or if required by law. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

If we close your account for a reason other than your violation of these Terms, we will refund or pay out held funds as the Payments, Holds and Refunds Terms provide. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including those on fees owed, content license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, release and dispute resolution.

25. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or addresses a new feature, in which case it may take effect sooner.

The version and effective date at the top of this page show when these Terms were last changed. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, close your account before the change takes effect. Changes do not apply to a dispute that arose before the change, and changes to Section 26 will not apply to a claim you have already told us about.

26. Dispute resolution: arbitration and class action waiver

Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration or a court case, you and we agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. Send a written notice describing the dispute and the relief requested to [to be completed] or [to be completed] (or, for notice to you, to the email on your account). If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days after the notice is received, either side may start a formal proceeding.

Agreement to arbitrate. Except as described below, you and [to be completed] agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Service, or any opportunity, including disputes about the scope or enforceability of this agreement to arbitrate, will be resolved by binding individual arbitration and not in court. This agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.

Rules and administrator. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, available at adr.org. The arbitration may be held by video, by phone, based on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live, as the rules allow. Payment of filing, administration and arbitrator fees will follow the AAA rules. If you show that the costs of arbitration would be prohibitive compared to the costs of litigation, we will pay as much of them as the arbitrator finds necessary to prevent that.

Small claims. Either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court in the county where you live or in [to be completed], if the claim qualifies and stays in that court.

Other exceptions. Either side may bring a claim in court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or to seek temporary injunctive relief to prevent irreparable harm while an arbitration is pending.

Class action waiver. YOU AND [to be completed] AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person and may award relief only to the individual party seeking it, and only to the extent needed to resolve that party's claim.

Jury waiver. If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than arbitration, you and we each waive any right to a jury trial, to the extent allowed by law.

30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by sending a written notice to [to be completed] or [to be completed] within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Your notice must include your name, the email on your account, and a clear statement that you want to opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Severability. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim or request for relief, that claim or request will be severed and decided in court, after any individual arbitration, and the rest of this section will still apply. If any other part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.

27. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [to be completed], without regard to conflict of laws rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act for Section 26. For any claim that is not subject to arbitration, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [to be completed], except for small claims as described above.

28. General terms

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents incorporated into them are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at our service providers.
  • Electronic communications. You agree to receive notices, agreements and disclosures electronically, including by email and in the app, and that they satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
  • No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not give rights to anyone other than you and us, except as stated in the indemnity and release sections.
