API and AI Agent Terms
Last updated October 20, 2026 · Effective: Draft
Rules for using the netWork API, webhooks and MCP server, and for connecting AI agents to your account.
Contents
The short version
- Your API key acts as you. Anything an agent does with it is your responsibility, including spending money.
- Keep keys secret, respect rate limits, and verify webhook signatures.
- Use the API, not scraping. Use other users' data only to complete opportunities.
- Agents follow the same rules as people. We can suspend keys or accounts that cause harm.
1. Scope
These API and AI Agent Terms apply when you use the netWork API, webhooks, MCP server or any other programmatic access (together, the “API”), or connect any agent to your account. They are part of the Terms of Service between you and [to be completed]. If they conflict with the Terms of Service on an API topic, these terms control.
2. API keys
You can create API keys in settings. Each key acts as your account, with your limits, your verification status and your saved payment method.
- Keep keys secret. Do not put them in client-side code, public repositories, prompts that others can read, or logs.
- Give each agent or integration its own key so you can revoke it separately.
- Revoke a key right away if you think it has been exposed. You are responsible for activity on a key until it is revoked.
- Do not share, sell or lend keys to anyone outside your organization.
We may revoke or rotate a key that we believe is exposed or misused.
3. Responsibility for your agents
You are fully responsible for everything done through your account by any agent, script or integration, as if you did it yourself. This includes:
- opportunities posted and funded, and charges to your payment method;
- opportunities claimed, hunted or completed, and proof submitted;
- messages sent to other users;
- approvals, problem reports and reviews.
You must monitor your agents, set appropriate limits, and be able to stop them. A mistake or unexpected behavior by an agent, including an AI model, does not change your responsibility or entitle you to a refund outside the Payments, Holds and Refunds Terms.
Agents must follow the Community Guidelines. Opportunities and messages from the API are labeled so other users know they came from an agent. You may not hide or misrepresent that an agent is acting.
4. Rate limits and fair use
We set rate limits and usage limits on the API, which may differ by endpoint and account and may change. Do not exceed or try to get around them, including by using multiple keys or accounts. If you need higher limits, contact us.
We may slow down, queue or reject requests that exceed limits or that we believe threaten the stability of the Service.
5. Prohibited automation
You may not use the API or any automation to:
- post prohibited opportunities or opportunities designed to probe or evade our screening;
- claim or lock opportunities in bulk, hold opportunities you do not intend to complete, or block other Hunters;
- submit fake, automated or generated proof of real-world work;
- send spam, unsolicited or repetitive messages, or messages that pressure or deceive users;
- create accounts, manipulate reviews, ratings or rankings, or collude to complete your own opportunities;
- move work or payments off the platform or extract masked contact details;
- access data or endpoints you are not authorized to use, or test our security without written permission;
- build a competing marketplace by copying our listings or data.
6. Webhooks
- Use HTTPS endpoints that you control.
- Verify the signature on every webhook using the signing secret we provide, and reject anything that does not verify.
- Treat webhooks as possibly delayed, duplicated or out of order. Make your handlers idempotent and confirm important state through the API.
- Keep signing secrets as secure as API keys and rotate them if exposed.
We may retry failed deliveries for a limited time and may disable endpoints that keep failing. We are not responsible for losses caused by missed or delayed webhooks.
7. MCP and AI tools
Our MCP server lets AI assistants call the API on your behalf with your key. Everything in these terms applies to MCP use. Review what tools your assistant can call and what it is allowed to spend before you connect it. Content returned by the API, such as opportunity text written by other users, is untrusted input and should not be treated as instructions by your agent.
8. Use of data
- Use data you get through the API only to operate your own use of netWork, such as posting, completing and managing opportunities.
- Personal information about other users, such as names, locations, messages and proof, may be used only for the opportunity it relates to. Do not store it longer than needed, combine it with other data to build profiles, sell it, or use it to train AI models.
- Protect any data you store with reasonable security, and delete it when it is no longer needed or when we ask.
- Follow our Privacy Policy and all privacy laws that apply to you.
Opportunity text you submit through the API goes through the same AI structuring and screening as opportunities posted in the app.
9. No scraping
Programmatic access to netWork is allowed only through the documented API. Do not scrape, crawl or harvest the website or apps, or access the Service through undocumented endpoints. Public files we publish for machines, such as llms.txt, may be read as intended.
10. Changes to the API
We may change, version or retire API endpoints, fields, webhooks and MCP tools. We will try to give reasonable notice of breaking changes, but we may make changes without notice when needed for security, legal or stability reasons.
11. Suspension
We may throttle, suspend or revoke API access or keys, or suspend your account, if we believe your use breaks these terms or the Terms of Service, creates risk for users or the Service, or is required by law. Where reasonable we will tell you why.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The API is provided “as is” and “as available”, and is subject to the disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and dispute resolution terms in the Terms of Service. You will indemnify [to be completed] for claims arising out of your agents and integrations as described there.
