- Stay safe, follow the law, and only take work you are qualified to do.
1. About this agreement
This Hunter Agreement is between you and [to be completed]. You must accept it before you claim, hunt or complete any opportunity on netWork. It adds to our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and Payments, Holds and Refunds Terms, which also apply to you.
The agreement to do the work described in an opportunity is between you and the Poster. [to be completed] provides the marketplace and handles payment. It is not a party to that work agreement.
2. Independent contractor status
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in this agreement or your use of netWork makes you an employee, agent, joint venturer or partner of [to be completed] or of any Poster.
You are free to decide whether to use netWork at all, which opportunities to claim or hunt, and when. There is no minimum number of opportunities, no required hours and no penalty for declining work. You can do work for other platforms and other clients, including competitors, at any time.
You may not hold yourself out as an employee or representative of [to be completed].
3. No employment benefits
Because you are not an employee, you are not entitled to wages, overtime, employee benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, paid leave or reimbursement of expenses from [to be completed], unless a law that cannot be waived says otherwise. [to be completed] does not withhold income or payroll taxes from your payouts.
4. You control how the work is done
The opportunity describes the result the Poster wants and the proof they need. You decide how to achieve that result: the methods, the route, the order, the tools and the timing, within the deadline and any exclusive window.
[to be completed] does not train, supervise or direct your work. Safety guidance and community rules we publish apply to everyone on the platform and are not instructions on how to do the work.
5. Tools, expenses and purchases
You provide your own tools, phone, vehicle, transportation and supplies, and you pay your own expenses, unless the opportunity clearly says otherwise.
Some opportunities require you to buy an item for the Poster. In that case the reward is all-in: it is meant to cover the cost of the item and your effort, and you are not separately reimbursed. Read the opportunity carefully before spending money. If the opportunity is cancelled, expires or is decided against you in a dispute, you may not recover what you spent.
6. Taxes and 1099 forms
You are responsible for reporting and paying all taxes on what you earn through netWork, including income and self-employment taxes, and for any sales or use tax that applies to your work.
When you set up payouts, Stripe collects your tax information. Where required by law, Stripe issues Form 1099 to you on behalf of [to be completed] and files it with the IRS and state tax authorities. Keep your tax information accurate and up to date. If your tax information is missing or invalid, we may be required to hold payouts or apply backup withholding.
We do not give tax advice. Talk to a tax professional about your situation.
7. Licenses, permits and qualifications
Only take opportunities you are qualified and legally allowed to do. If an opportunity requires a license, permit, certification or registration, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, legal, medical or commercial driving work, you must hold it and keep it current before you take the opportunity. You must also have any vehicle registration, driver's license and insurance needed for driving.
We may ask you to show proof of a license or qualification, and we may refuse or remove you from opportunities if you cannot.
8. Insurance
[to be completed] does not provide insurance for you, your vehicle, your tools or your work. We strongly recommend that you carry your own insurance, such as general liability insurance and, if you drive for opportunities, auto insurance that covers business use. Personal auto policies often exclude commercial or delivery use.
9. Safety
You are responsible for your own safety and for doing the work safely for others. Follow the safety guidance in the Community Guidelines. Do not take an opportunity that you cannot complete safely. You may stop at any time if you feel unsafe, and you should report the problem in the app. In an emergency, call 911 first.
10. Legal compliance
You will follow all laws that apply to your work, including traffic, safety, consumer protection, privacy, age-restricted sales and anti-discrimination laws. You will not take any opportunity that breaks the Community Guidelines, even if it was not caught by screening. If you see one, report it.
11. Claims, hunts and exclusivity
In Claim mode, claiming an opportunity gives you exclusive rights to complete it for a limited window. You must start within 30 minutes of claiming, or the claim lapses and the opportunity may reopen to others. Do not claim opportunities you do not intend to start right away.
In Hunt mode, other Hunters may be working on the same opportunity. Only the first valid completion with proof wins. You are not paid for effort on a Hunt opportunity that someone else completes first, or that expires or is cancelled before you submit.
12. Proof and honesty
Your proof must be real, recent, made by you for this opportunity and accurately show the result. You may not submit edited, staged, AI-generated or reused photos or files as proof of a real-world result, claim work you did not do, or misrepresent the condition of an item.
Submitting false proof is fraud. It can lead to loss of the reward, permanent removal, recovery of any amounts paid and referral to law enforcement.
13. Getting paid
You are paid only when your submission is approved, either by the Poster or automatically 72 hours after you submit if the Poster does not approve or report a problem.
You receive the full reward. [to be completed] charges its service fee to the Poster and does not deduct a platform fee from your reward.
Payouts are made through Stripe Connect to the account you set up during onboarding. Payout timing depends on Stripe. If the Poster reports a problem, you have 48 hours to fix it with new proof or refund the Poster; if you do neither, the Poster is refunded automatically. If a chargeback is filed or we suspect fraud, the payout may be held until it is resolved. Where we decide a dispute, staff may release the reward to you, refund the Poster, or split the funds.
[to be completed] acts as your limited agent for the purpose of receiving payment from the Poster. When the Poster's payment is received by [to be completed] through Stripe, the Poster's obligation to pay you the reward is satisfied to that extent, and [to be completed] is responsible for paying it to you under these terms.
14. Your work product
When the reward for an opportunity is released to you, you transfer to the Poster any rights you have in the deliverables you created for that opportunity, such as files, written results and photos delivered as the result, unless the opportunity says otherwise. You keep rights in your pre-existing tools, know-how and materials that are not part of the deliverable.
You grant [to be completed] a license to store and display your proof as needed to operate the Service, decide disputes and keep records, as described in the Terms of Service.
15. Non-exclusivity
This agreement is not exclusive. You may work for anyone else, through any other service, at any time. [to be completed] may offer any opportunity to any Hunter and does not promise you any amount of work.
16. Confidentiality of Poster information
While working on an opportunity you may learn a Poster's name, address, contact details, home layout, belongings, schedule, business information or other private details. You will use that information only to complete the opportunity, keep it confidential, and not share, post, sell or keep it after the opportunity ends, except as required by law.
You will not photograph or record anything beyond what is needed for the proof the opportunity asks for. You will not contact a Poster outside the platform or after an opportunity ends for reasons unrelated to the opportunity.
17. Identity verification and background checks
You must complete identity verification through Stripe Identity before taking in-person opportunities or opportunities above certain reward levels, and when we ask for it to reduce risk. By starting verification, you agree to Stripe collecting and checking your government ID and selfie under Stripe's terms and privacy policy.
We do not currently run background checks. If we later require one for certain opportunities, it will be run by a consumer reporting agency such as Checkr, only after Checkr gives you its separate disclosure and you sign its separate authorization. You have rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including the right to receive a copy of your report and to dispute inaccurate information. If we decide not to let you take certain opportunities based in whole or in part on a report, we will give you the notices required by law first.
18. Liability and indemnity
You are responsible for your work and your conduct while doing it, including any injury, damage or loss you cause to a Poster, a third party, or their property.
To the extent allowed by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless [to be completed] and its officers, directors, employees and agents from claims, losses, damages and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your work on any opportunity, your breach of this agreement, your violation of any law or anyone's rights, or any claim that you are an employee of [to be completed] brought by you or on your behalf, to the extent permitted by law.
The disclaimers, limitation of liability and release in the Terms of Service also apply to this agreement.
19. Term and termination
This agreement starts when you accept it and continues until you or we end it. You can stop taking opportunities at any time and close your account in settings. We may suspend or end your ability to take opportunities under the Terms of Service.
Ending this agreement does not affect opportunities you have already submitted. Those are approved, disputed or refunded under our terms, and any reward that becomes payable to you will still be paid. Sections on taxes, confidentiality, work product, liability and indemnity survive.
20. Disputes and other terms
Disputes between you and [to be completed], including disputes about your classification as an independent contractor, are subject to the arbitration agreement and class action waiver in the Terms of Service, including your right to opt out within 30 days. If this agreement conflicts with the Terms of Service on a topic specific to Hunters, this agreement controls.
